REVIEW - The Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers are a great choice if you are limited by space, but want room-filling sound. They are small in stature, but because of a heavy magnet on the back of the driver, they will deliver lows that belie their size. The versatility of these speakers, coupled with the classy look, make them a good fit for the audiophile with space limitations who does not want to compromise on quality. Polk Audio has been creating speakers for the discerning ear for many years, and these are another example of what sound enthusiasts have come to expect from the brand.
The attention to detail on the construction of these bookshelf speakers is evident in the full sound you will hear when you press “play” on your CD or DVD player. The highs are crystal clear, and the lows are deep enough to make you question the need for a subwoofer. They won’t vibrate your neighbor’s back teeth, but you’ll want them to come over and hear these things perform. You can use them as your main speakers for jamming your favorite music, to hear the complex sounds of your video games, or as integral parts of your home theater system. Any way they are employed, the Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers will deliver a clean, full reproduction of your chosen sounds.
The higher sensitivity and lower power requirements of the TSi100’s makes them more efficient than lower-end speakers. This allows you to push them with less power and still get the full, wide sound you would expect from a larger size speaker without having the volume level at 11. Feel like you are there while watching a live concert. Hear the rumble of the engine as you shift gears in your favorite driving game. Absorb all the layers of sound in a full symphony reproduction of Beethoven’s Fifth. You will enjoy every application that you can imagine with the Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers. Also, since these speakers are ported in the back, I would suggest placing them away from a wall in an elevated position to give them a little room. You will get a more wide, full sound if you give them some breathing room.
The Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers fall into the “get what you pay for” category. This might require saving your allowance for a couple of extra weeks, but good things come to those that wait! If having quality sound is your goal, the Polk Audio name is one you can trust to deliver.
